The Credit Manager works on a global level to determine credit limits and protects company assets by investigating and assessing credit worthiness and overall risk of current and potential customers.
Accepts or rejects applications for credit and is responsible for examining and verifying the information provided on customer applications, credit reports, and financial documents.
May establish credit guidelines, requirements, and repayment schedules for assigned customers.
Complies with confidentiality laws and all local, federal, and global collection and data protection laws.
This position can be remote from anywhere in the US.
ResponsibilitiesProvides analysis and interpretation of the customers' financial status for proper evaluation of risk and the establishment of proper credit limits, requirements and repayment schedules within designated approval levels.
Manages and monitors the credit portfolio in order to meet DSO(Days Sales Outstanding), delinquency, and collection effectiveness targetsApplies knowledge of core credit competencies to develop solutions and resolve issues when participating in assigned project teams.
Demonstrate a clear understanding of Risk Modeling and its use in credit monitoringMakes independent credit decisions within designated approval levels, establishes new credit lines, and maintains existing accounts.
Interfaces with sales organization/assigned Business Unit's/internal support departments on a regular basis to communicate credit decisions, timely review of new customers, review orders on credit hold, expedited orders, and to find solutions to customer issues.
Negotiates documentation and payment terms with customers to ensure transactions are properly secured.
Develops and provides reports to management on outside credit inquiries, accounts for collection, bad debt write-offs, and monthly customer statement review.
Develops plans for mitigating bad debt losses.
Analyzes and reports on credit memo and write-off activity.
Represents the Company at credit association meetings and trade shows.
Other duties as assignedQualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
Minimum of 7 years of experience using skills as a seasoned, experienced professional in Credit and Collections including a vast understanding of credit reporting agenciesCertified Credit Executive (CCE) designation or similar certification is a plus.
Has a full understanding of industry practices, company policies and procedures, and current laws and legislation.
Proficient in reading and interpreting financial statements for the purpose of underwriting credit.
Prior experience with UCC filings and personal guarantees.
SAP/S4HANA experience is a plus.
Able to work on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data or situations requires evaluation of identifiable factorsDemonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions for difficult assignments and of diverse scope.
Able to provide guidance to subordinates within the latitude of established company policies.
Experience with advising subordinates how to meet schedules and/or resolve technical problems.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
